What makes them think they’re cool is beyond me . . . so there I was sitting, watching David Letterman and waiting with apprehension to see this new female singer that was all the rave.
Disappointed!
Not only was she a bad version of a cross between Tori Amos and Janis Joplin, and a consummate musical poser if I have ever seen one… she was on stage … Barefoot!
And she thought she was being original. She emphasized her barefootedness by doing a few kicks in the air… so all us home viewers could see how original she was.
I was appalled. Yes, it’s so anti-diva to be on stage… on David Letterman no less… barefoot.
Yes… it shows how cool and hip and anti-mainstream you are.
But as a singer … as a Diva. Yuck!
I mean I’ve seen Gwen Stefani dance and jump around a stage in 4” platforms with a 9” heel without so much as a hesitation. That was sexy. Two kicks in the air with bare feet… yawn!
A singer that is not wearing heels… that isn’t wearing something sexy or alluring or provocative is saying more than being anti-mainstream and anti-fashion. She’s screaming to all... boring.
Now Gwen is always wearing sexy or interesting shoes even if she’s wearing blingish, fast and furious attire. She shows off her choice in footwear and gives her props to the fetish people.
That's a star!
